Smita Shrinivas is a couturier and visionary artist who founded her eponymous label after breaking away from a family legacy rooted in engineering. A graduate of the NIFT Mumbai, where she was recognized with multiple awards for her creative excellence, Smita further honed her craft at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, she was featured at the FIT NYC Gallery for her capstone project and completed high-profile internships at New York Fashion Week and with leading international designers.

Her professional journey began at the globally renowned Marchesa, where she crafted couture garments for Cannes, the Golden Globes, and other iconic red carpet events. On returning to India, she worked across leading couture houses before choosing to chart her own path. Declining offers from top Indian designers, she launched Smita Shrinivas with a borrowed investment and a five-member atelier, driven by the singular vision to redefine Indian couture for the global stage.

Rooted in craftsmanship and emotion, and shaped by her cross-continental education and experience, the label is building a world where innovation meets timeless elegance. From richly embroidered silhouettes to contemporary draping techniques, every creation from Smita Shrinivas is a celebration of individuality and precision. With plans to take her designs to red carpets around the world, Smita is on a mission to make Indian couture resonate globally—piece by piece, dream by dream.
