Delicate in appearance yet built to last generations, this is a GI-tagged revival weave reclaimed by master weavers after nearly being lost to powerlooms. This is a saree that only grows more beautiful and softer with time.
This sage green and maroon handwoven Udupi cotton saree features an all-over gingham check body woven in soft off-white with fine maroon and brown crosshatch checks, sitting crisp and rhythmic across the entire drape. The border runs in a clean sage green stripe, giving the saree a grounded, earthy edge. The pallu deepens into layered horizontal stripes in sage green, accented with thin lines of mustard and coral, finishing with dense woven stripe bands and hand-cut fringe tassels.
