Mid-life crises are a fact of life. As your children get consumed by their college lives and social circles and your partner with their professional responsibilities, it doesnt matter whether you are a working woman or a homemaker “ your emotions can get the better of you. At times like these, it helps to have a hobby youre passionate about, a strong circle of friends, and the zeal to live in the present. On a personal note, when I found my friends and I sailing in the same boat, during one of our meetings, I proposed taking a holiday to Goa. I knew that travelling together and leaving our worries at home would help us to find a fresh perspective.

We booked our tickets for a five-day stay. We made sure to live life to the fullest during our stay “ from water sports, to local food, to visiting historic landmarks. On the last day, we indulged in a spot of pub-hopping, wearing our favourite sarees and dancing till our legs started to ache.

What we learned from that trip was never to let our age dull the child that lives in all of us. We must nurture and cherish that child, so that we can approach each stage of our lives with the same spirit of curiosity and discovery.
